About PPRA

Established to safeguard how public money buys things.

The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority is established under Section 8(1) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015. It is mandated to monitor, assess and review Kenya's Public Procurement and asset disposal system so that it respects the national values and other provisions of the Constitution, including Article 227 on fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost-effective procurement.

PPRA works alongside the National Treasury and the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB), the independent body that hears bidder complaints and appeals, to keep the system accountable end to end.
