Market Reference Guide April 2026
The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (the Authority) is mandated under Section 54(3) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (2015) to issue a quarterly market price reference guide to assist accounting officers make informed price decisions. In fulfilment of this mandate, the Authority conducted a Market Price Survey between 16th February 2026 and 8th March 2026 in five (5) sampled towns (Embu, Kisumu, Nakuru, Mombasa and Nairobi).
The Market Price Survey focused on eleven (11) categories of common user items namely Building Materials, Foodstuff & Beverages, Waterworks Materials, Pharmaceuticals, Cleaning Materials, Computers & Accessories (ICT), Stationery, Furniture, Textiles, Electrical Appliances and Petroleum Products. The data collected was analyzed and subsequently a Market Price Reference Guide prepared.
